All the Western Province skaters will be doing an exhibition of their programs on 22 September 2009 18h30 - 20h00 in preparation for Nationals being held in Pretoria 11-13 Oct. Entry fee is R20 and funds generated go towards the skaters travel expenses.

The Sun Things Synchronized Team is a 16 member
ice skating team who have won the South African National Championships
title since 1993 and in doing so, earned the privilege of competing for
South Africa overseas on numerous occasions. The team competed at
various international competitions over the past few years PLUS as the
South African Champions they represented Africa at the Inaugural
World Championships in Minneapolis, USA 5 - 8 April 2000!!!! And
also at the World Championships in Helsinki, Finland 5 - 8 April 2001,
plus World Championships in Ottawa, Canada 3 - 5 April 2003, plus
World Championships in Zagreb, Croatia 1 - 4 April 2004!!!!
Cape Town can be considered home to synchronized skating in South Africa. Other teams hosted at The Ice Station are a Junior team (Team Rainbow), Novice team (Team Silhouette) and then a development introductory team from the Junior Blades Club and another from the Black Panthers Club.
